We're off to Albakirkee Albaquirquee Albequequeque New Mexico for the weekend for a wedding, so updates will be sparse (yeah, just like last time... right...).
Congratulations to Tom & Erin who're getting married, and our best wishes for many happy years together.
The answer to the question
The answer to the question Is this guy a good husband, or what? is definitely "or what?" Sounds more like grounds for divorce to me. If they're selling this to guys claiming that it'll work on women the way they say it will, well, they've got a thing or two to learn.
Still think that Al Gore
Still think that Al Gore said that he invented the Internet? Or that he took credit for cleaning up Love Canal? Check out this article, where you'll discover that Al isn't a liar, but certain reporters (egged on by GOP dirty tricksters) are. And continue to be, due to either laziness or malice.

Steve Beale finally makes official
Steve Beale finally makes official what has been obvious for a couple of years: the end of Mac the Knife. The reader responses down at the bottom are sadly hilarious; it just confirms my opinions of why I love the computer but hate the evangelists.
This interesting Slate piece, Newspaper
This interesting Slate piece, Newspaper Positions Itself as Cynical, analyzes how the NY Times spins the news and does its readers a disservice. It's also pretty funny.
Jesus Christ, Dori! It was
Jesus Christ, Dori! It was 1985! Fifteen years ago! Get over it, already. You miss the point that Zappa was dead wrong: the net effect of the PMRC was simply the warning stickers on CD's. Nobody's civil liberties were infringed; the courts were not clogged for years. If there had been a chilling effect on music, we would not have had yesterday's Nirvana, much less today's Eminem.
A meaningless vote for some protest candidate - or no vote - is the same as a vote for George W. Bush. And I know you don't want that dork as president.
It's an election year, and
It's an election year, and every so often someone assumes from things I've said that I'll vote Democrat. I didn't vote for Clinton in 1992 or 1996, and I don't plan to vote for Al Gore in 2000. And that's all for one reason. Blivet today linked to the First Session on Contents of Music and the Lyrics of Records--September 19, 1985. The PMRC proposal is an ill-conceived piece of nonsense which fails to deliver any real benefits to children, infringes the civil liberties of people who are not children, and promises to keep the courts busy for years dealing with the interpretational and enforcemental problems inherent in the proposal's design. -- Frank Zappa

I love online shopping when the companies get it right. So far, though, that's been rare. Both of these orders have had something go wrong; this link is here so that I can keep an eye on them.
