Tom's away, so I get

Tom's away, so I get to listen to music in the office. Live365--yum. Between the music and my new keyboard showing up today, I feel like I'm in a whole new (and more friendly) work environment. I'm really starting to realize how much I hated my previous keyboard.

Heh heh heh...Aquent['s web site]

Heh heh heh...

Aquent['s web site] presents so many roadblocks, and is so full of itself generally, that reports of its imminent death may not be an exaggeration.

Nader condemns assisted suicide law.

Nader condemns assisted suicide law. One more stupid statement from the guy who considers abortion rights and gay rights (as just two examples) to be unimportant. Why on earth is anyone seriously considering voting for this jerk?

An article that finally gets

An article that finally gets it right: Women Fight Gender Gap With Self-Employment. Even though I'm one myself, I'm always amazed at how many of the Wise-Women are self-employed just to avoid the corporations that just don't get it.

Brig pointed to a desk

Brig pointed to a desk made out of LEGO. Too bad school starts again next week; otherwise, creating, building, and selling stuff like this might have been a fun summertime job for Sean.

'Erotic Gherkin' to be added

'Erotic Gherkin' to be added to London skyline: sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. And sometimes, it ain't.

I'm both amused and appalled:

I'm both amused and appalled: Bush Stumbles While Touting Education Program.

In the midst of a tour to promote his views on education, Texas Gov. George W. Bush may have set a personal record for bloopers in one speech. In 15 minutes, he mistook "terrors" (or was it "terriers"?) for "tariffs" and "hostile" for "hostage" (twice), and asserted that President Clinton has been in office for four -- not eight -- years.

According to recent news reports

According to recent news reports tied to the story of the lost Russian sub, Russia's yearly military budget is $5 billion, about a quarter of Holland's. The US military budget is hovering around $300 billion. That's almost as much as the rest of the world combined. I'm absolutely in favor of the US maintaining a strong defense. But I've got to wonder what drugs the presidential candidates like Bush are on when they talk about "rebuilding America's military." We have the acknowledged strongest military the world has ever seen, and there isn't a credible military threat from anywhere in the world, as far as I can see.

Here's a picture of Calista

Here's a picture of Calista Bisek, Newt Gingrich's new wife at their wedding on Friday. Given that Newt was only divorced last December, and the accompanying story refers to her as his "companion of seven years," where's the scarlet A on that dress? Just to be clear, I don't really care about the adultery part. It's Gingrich's hypocrisy that annoys me, given his public pronouncements about morality.

I am jazzed. I am

I am jazzed. I am just so jazzed. I know this probably isn't a big deal to anyone but me, but I've wanted this since about my first day on the web. Break out the champagne! Virtual booze all 'round, noisemakers, screaming at the top of my lungs, etc...

dori.com is mine, mine, mine, mine, mine! (Finally!)

Now, I just gotta update the page.. what to do, what to do... hmmm?
