Yeah, I know it's been
Yeah, I know it's been done before. Yeah, I know just about everyone else has linked to it. But some things you just gotta do, so if you haven't been there yet, go check it out. Warning: long load time + music.
Did you know there was
Did you know there was a World Oil magazine? Me neither. They're now publishing a rumor that the current gas crunch is an Arab plot to punish Gore for picking a Jewish running mate. And of course, having the opposing side be two oilman ain't a bad deal for them, either.

According to CNET News, Apple
According to CNET News, Apple says "our Power Mac G4 Cube is off to a slower-than-expected start, resulting in revenues below expectations." I hate to say it, but I told you so.
In his latest column, Cringely
In his latest column, Cringely Reconsiders Internet Telephony. From what he says, it might be worth looking into again, especially based on my last long distance phone bill.
Spin is a one hour
Spin is a one hour video documentary of the 1992 elections, based completely on satellite backhauls--the stuff that's going on while regular viewers are watching commercials. It's things like this that tempt me to think about getting one of the big dishes.
An interesting question:The World
An interesting question:
The World Wide Web and the Clinton presidency were born at approximately the same time. As a consequence, we have never known the official White House Web site to be anything other than an archive of Bill Clinton's presidency. I'd like to point out, just for the record, that there was absolutely no slobbering or drooling after I turned the new TV on for the first time. I was relatively dignified. Sort of.
The Dave Winer flames Tim
The Dave Winer flames Tim O'Reilly discussion has moved over to Tim's Weblog discussion board, where Dave can't censor the direction. It's mostly interesting because of a few old faces showing up; so far, Jon Pugh and Preston Holmes have been heard from.
Damn, that's one really big
Damn, that's one really big honking television set. Happy now, Tom?
So, who's bringing the popcorn?

It's like something out of
It's like something out of Life of Brian... I wrote an essay about how I felt like I didn't fit in at Fray Day 4, and lots of people wrote back that they felt the same way, or nearly so. If everyone's perceiving themselves on the outside and everyone else as being on the inside, who's really in/out?
Like I said: plenty of things to think about
And thanks for the links and feedback on my piece: Al, Brig, Dan, Derek, Dinah, Hal, John, Jonas, Iowa John, Matt and Rory.
From what I can tell,
From what I can tell, nearly everyone has won a TiVo. Except me, of course. But I'm sure that that had to do with me being a professional writer (against their rules) and not with me mentioning that we already have a Replay box.
Take a look at this
Take a look at this site. Now, take a look at this one. Looks kinda familiar, huh?
I went to Fray Day
I went to Fray Day 4 last Friday. I had a few thoughts I wanted to put up here, but by the time they all came out it was long enough to get its own page. Feel free to let me know what you think, particularly if you were there.
