We'll be on a mini-hiatus

We'll be on a mini-hiatus here at Backup Brain, while we go and get married (and go on a honeymoon).

See you when we return!

Whoops... that last story was five years old. Here's an update from four years ago, saying that it's all been settled.

They think copyright means the 'mean people'. ASCAP fights the Girl Scouts. I wouldn't want to be an ASCAP spokesman right now.

I successfully resisted the desire

I successfully resisted the desire to buy a TiBook, but I couldn't say no to the new iBook. I bought one today (with the DVD-ROM drive and an Airport card); because the Apple Store is estimating delivery in 3 to 5 weeks, it might even be here when we get back from our honeymoon. Anyone want to buy my blueberry iBook? It's the original 300 MHz model, with 96 Mb of RAM and an Airport card. When I get the new iBook, I'll sell the old one for whatever the going price is on eBay for a comparable machine, and I'll throw in some pretty good (and still shrinkwrapped) software to sweeten the deal.

I recently was served this

I recently was served this Famous Caramel French Toast, and it was wonderful. It'd be perfect for a Christmas morning breakfast, because almost all the work is done the day before.
