Researchers in Australia say metal

Researchers in Australia say metal screwcaps appear to be the best way to preserve the quality of white wine. Them's fighting words where we live (although I have been seeing plastic replacing cork, lately).

I'm having a hard time deciding which is sicker: IsDickCheneyDeadYet.com or WheresChandra.com.

ResearchBuzz pointed to Accordion Links,

ResearchBuzz pointed to Accordion Links, which reminded me that the Cotati Accordion Festival is coming up next month. I still love last year's poster, but this year's bumper sticker is pretty good, too.

As usual, Molly Ivins has

As usual, Molly Ivins has a keen take on the current news:

That helpful House trio, Reps. Dick Armey, Tom DeLay and J.C. Watts, wrote Bush a letter calling stem-cell research "an industry of death." Funny, I've never heard any of them describe arms manufacturers that way.

Everyone knows that many ambassadorships

Everyone knows that many ambassadorships are handed out as political patronage after every election. But do we really want Ambassador Slumlord?

Re Dori's last post: I

Re Dori's last post: I prefer to think of it as only 28 more shopping days left before her 40th birthday. Come to think of it, that's really the way she prefers to think of it, too.

Every so often, Tom and

Every so often, Tom and I play the "What would we do if we won the lottery?" game. Way high up there on both our lists is travelling, and lots of it. I've always been fascinated by the idea of buying a motor home and hitting the road for several months, as I have an aunt and uncle who did it (6 months on/6 months off) for years.

Anyway, the point of this post is, if we ever do come into lotsa money and decide to see the world (or at least that part available by RV), Philip Greenspun has already started our Motorhomes research.

Thanks to Luke for the link.
