Another in our occasional series

Another in our occasional series of quotes from our local small town newspaper:

Call to Singers

The West County Theater Arts Guild is looking for singers for the chorus of a new theater production portraying the history of the Jewish chicken ranchers of Petaluma. The play will be produced in October at the Spreckels Theater in Rohnert Park. Call 707-824-9140.
Sadly, the article didn't mention the name of the show, so we're now taking nominations. "Best Little Chicken Ranch in Petaluma"? "Fiddler on the Henhouse Roof"? You can do better than us, we know.

Just an observation: I'm here

Just an observation: I'm here at Macworld Expo, and there are wireless Airport (802.11b) networks everywhere on the show floor and in the press and speaker rooms. I've decided that Airport is one of the coolest technologies ever. Especially as our $200/night hotel (the Paramount) doesn't offer high-speed Net access at all, and charges $1.25 plus .10/minute for a modem connection.

The kid's at grandma's house,

The kid's at grandma's house, the cat's at the vets, and we're both off to Macworld Expo. We'll be signing books at the Peachpit booth on Wednesday from 1-2 pm, and we'll be doing the party thang, of course. Say hello if you'll be around.

Climage Change by Gregg Easterbrook

Climage Change by Gregg Easterbrook provides a different, interesting, and if true, more practical way of dealing with global warming than the Kyoto Protocol, which was abandoned this year by the US.
