Tara, have you seen The Anti-Thesaurus: A Proposal For Improving Internet Search While Reducing Unnecessary Traffic Loads? (via Meryl). The concept is that we could tell the search engines that really, we don't have any info on backup software or brains, and therefore, they'd stop giving this out as a site for people searching for those words. It's a nice idea, but considering that Google doesn't look at meta tags (or at least they won't look at mine--are they supposed to?), I'm not sure how useful this is in real life.

Ooooh.... Apple's offering 6 months same-as-cash loans. I can buy that TiBook now (with the double-the-RAM offer!), and sell the Pismo and the G4 desktop in the first half of next year, long before I actually have to pay for the TiBook. The only question left is, in which tax year do I write it off?

A year or two ago, there was a big hoohah in the Mac market because someone jumped the gun and sent out a press release a day early that their company had won an Eddy award. Now, Macworld itself jumps the gun and announces the 2001 Eddy award winners a month early. What's up with that?
