As the Joker said, "Where does he get all those marvelous toys?" Of course, he was talking about the Caped Crusader, but the question applies equally to any supervillian. Dori's visiting friends in Seattle
Dori's visiting friends in Seattle and Portland until the middle of next week, and I've been feeling a bit under the weather all this week, so that's why posting has been (and probably will be) sporadic. Back sometime soon, though I won't be surprised if Dori ends up posting from the road. Note to Dori: a very tired kid made it home OK.

Life is interesting in the Mac JavaScript world today. rnSoft announced jsTool 1.0.1, and Apple says:
Apple is pleased to announce the open source release of the new JavaScriptCore framework, based on the kjs JavaScript engine from KDE. JavaScriptCore is a private API which may be used by future Mac OS X applications such as Sherlock, and is provided as Open Source as part of our partnership with the KDE community. JavaScriptCore will be used by Sherlock in an upcoming O/S release, and possibly by other Apple software in the future. Apple chose kjs as the basis of its JavaScript technology for its simple and efficient code.
I think that either JavaScript OSA or SpiderMonkey might have been a better starting point, but it's all good news.
The Screen Savers are running

Your mission, should you choose
Your mission, should you choose to accept it: go to the Web site for the The Oregon Shakespeare Festival and try to find an address for any of their theaters. So far as I can tell, they don't have one anywhere on their site, but I'd be thrilled to be proved wrong.
In case you've been wonder
In case you've been wonder where Dave is, John Robb says he's in the hospital, and will be there until next weekend. Given the way most hospitals tend to boot people out asap these days, that sounds serious.
