Hey, it's our nephew's, Christopher Bevins, IMDB page. Congratulations! So far, his big acting role has been as Bee, the puppy on DragonballZ, but you've got to start somewhere. He's working mainly as an ADR engineer, but what he really wants to do is direct.

Understatement OTY

From Apple's new page on GUI scripting, the understatement of the year: "Scripters have often requested the ability to control, via AppleScript, applications which either do not have AppleScript support or are only partially scriptable." Ya think? (10.2.3 only)

WTF? Micromedia? Macrosoft?

Say it ain't so: Microsoft plots Macromedia coup against Java. No matter why they did it, the first thing MS would do if they bought MM would be to kill Contribute (aka "MM's FrontPage Killer"), so pray that this doesn't happen. It'd be one of the worst things to ever happen to the Web.

Okay, Tom's right, I'm here, but he didn't say why: to try to find out if the lousy battery life (mentioned here previously) is something that Apple will recognize as broken and repair. The answer is yes to the former and no to the latter, but only because (1) I'd have to leave my TiBook for 24-48 hours for them to verify that it's a really dying and (2) even if it was, they don't have a TiBook battery in stock. The solution seems to be (or so the genius told me) that I need to call AppleCare, tell them that the genius said that the battery was dying, and to send me a new one. We'll see how that works.

So yeah, I am a big geek, but not as big of one as Tom implied in his last post.

Dori's in Las Vegas, the fabled land of fun and sin. She's spending the night alone (or IS she???), before Sean and I fly in tomorrow. So what will Dori be doing tomorrow while she's at loose ends in a hot town, free, for one thrilling moment, from the burdens of being a wife and mother? Why, she'll be going here.
