A face made for radio

Hey, that's me and my smiling face over at the Online Tonight site. I had a great time talking about JavaScript, Java, Macworld Expo, Macs, computer books, the joys of working with ones spouse, and Macromedia Contribute. They've already invited me (and Tom this time, too!) to talk again next Friday, which we'll be doing from the floor at Macworld Expo.

CA quarter design vote

Vote for your favorite design for the California Quarter. All I can say is, based on these choices, someone's selling a lot of bad clip art of the Golden Gate Bridge. Is this really the best that could be found?

Net access via bluetooth phone

There's useful info over at Macintouch about connecting to the Internet via a Ericsson T68i phone and Bluetooth. The only part of this I seem to be missing is an ISP that allows dial-up.

I (heart) SSIs

Have I mentioned before how much I love Server Side Includes? One small change to one small file, and voila! the copyright info on every page on this site has changed. Some days, I just love computers.

Macworld Expo expectations

Tom's terrible at self-promotion, so I have to point out that he contributed to the Macworld article, What's in the Cards: Macworld's Third Annual Look at the Year Ahead in Macs. In it, he gives his guesses as to what's going to happen in the Mac market at Macworld Expo, and for 2003 in general. If you want to know what I think, you'll have to tune into David Lawrence's radio show, Online Tonight, where I'll be discussing that same topic on Friday night from 7-8 pm Pacific.

Cold readings

If you've ever watched a psychic in action, or wondered how it's done, go read My Psychic Adventure by Kari Coleman. It's an excellent breakdown of how easy it is to do a cold reading of someone who wants to be read. Via the excellent ArtLung Blog.

Bush's economic lies

This isn't exactly news, but it bears repeating, if for no other reason than to supply ammo the next time you run into a conservative who still needs to blame Clinton for everything: Bush's Bushwa - The president and his aides keep lying about when the recession started. Read it, then remember that if you're George Bush, "restoring honor and dignity to the White House" never extends to lying about your record.
