I’m not sure which is more worrisome: that Sean wrote “cheese pads” on the grocery list, or that I knew exactly what he meant.
Now I’m curious. Would that be stacks of individual slices? Kind of like a stack of post-it notes?
Uh oh, that makes two of us who understood him. Yeah, he was thinking of sliced cheese, like “a pad of paper, a pad of cheese, right?” Or so he said.
Tom thought that he meant “acne pads.” OTOH, you probably would have to know how bad Sean’s writing is to understand why Tom ‘s guess was perfectly reasonable.
He should have specified what color cheese pads he wanted! Perhaps he wanted some Monty orange cheese pads or some blue cheese pads. Maybe they are for his bike, rear magura with cheese pads.

Scarily enough, I did Google it before I posted this, just in case it was a common term in some other part of the country or something and he’d picked it up from a friend or grandparent.
