You don’t have to settle for downloaded widgets when it’s so easy to make your own.

Give it a look, and then use your creativity to make your own. I'll be keeping an eye out for the best submissions.

Our best wishes to our friends and colleagues in and around the New Orleans area. You're in our thoughts. We urge all of our readers to consider donating to your preferred charity organization, to help people affected by the disaster. I read a post today on Daily Kos that suggested that it is better to donate cash to the Red Cross, rather than goods. Other charities allow you to target your dollars more directly than the Red Cross does, so they may be better choices for you. Please figure out the best place for you to give, then do what you can.

Update: Based on comments to this post, I've edited it to change the appeal from specifically the Red Cross.
