The circus is back in town
Who says it's too late to get in the Presidential race? Hard on the heels of Frederick of Hollywood, perennial candidate and insanely right-wing wacko Alan Keyes announces for President for the GOP nomination. The nice thing about Keyes is that he's a very good speaker, so people will listen to him. But then they'll realize that what he's saying is just plain batshit crazy. He's farther to the right than any other GOP candidate, and that's really saying something. As far as I'm concerned, anything that drags the Republicans further to the right is a great thing, because it will damage their brand even more in the general election. Go, Keyes!
Connections to the kind-of-mighty
I'm amused to discover, through the magic of Facebook, that I share my birthday with Debra Bowen, the California Secretary of State. Glad I voted for her. That adds her to my list of other notable October 27th-ians, such as Teddy Roosevelt, Sylvia Plath, John Cleese, Fran Lebowitz, porn star/director Veronica Hart, and Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon.
