The end of the death march
Let me just say how happy I am that the Democratic primary season is nearly over. With the Democratic rule committee meting today, the last major problem - the disposition of the Florida and Michigan rogue primaries - has been solved. Things haven't changed since yesterday, of course; Obama has still won, and Hillary's still lost. But now one more fig leaf has been removed from the Clinton camp, and the last real obstacle to Obama's assuming the mantle is gone. I expect that come Wednesday or Thursday of next week, after the last couple of primaries, remaining "uncommitted" superdelegates will come out for Obama, and he can turn full-steam to the real job: kicking John McCain's electoral ass.
