Fun with audio editing

July 14, 2012 by Tom Negrino

Josh Marshall at TPM mentioned this ad first. In it, the Obama campaign has done a lot of audio post processing on Mitt’s voice, so that he sounds like he’s singing in places that are eerily empty and quiet. It’s as if Romney, like a Bond villain, was singing “America the Beautiful” ironically after he had dropped a neutron bomb and eliminated all the people. And the ad is still more accurate than Romney’s ad where they dishonestly edited the President’s sentence to make it sound the opposite of what he actually said. When the Obama team cried foul on that one, the Romney folks shrugged and kept running it. Which makes Romney’s current bleating for an apology over true reports of his tenure at Bain so hilarious.

    Wait — Romney’s not a Bond villain?
